A HOTEL THAT IS AN ARTISTIC PIECE TO DIALOGUE WITH RIO.
Halfway between Porto and Douro Wine Region, the hotel is located in Vista Alegre (Castelo de Paiva).
The geographical location and the architectural features of the building amplify the connection to the surrounding landscape and escape from reality: the Douro41, built in schist stone and glass, in a system of escarpment that extends almost to the river, was based on a series of environmental concerns and consistency with the surrounding environment.
Here human construction does not clash, it is an element of conjugation with the river and the mountains that surround it – an example of this are the two outdoor pools, both infinite, where we almost feel part of the landscape.
